About Us

Salem Community Gardens, established in 2007,

rents out raised beds and gardening plots to over 248  families in Salem, Massachusetts.

We recognize that this is Indigenous land, and acknowledge the Massachusett tribe who continue to honor and hold this land into the present (more info).

Our four garden locations are Palmer Cove, Mack Park, Pickman Park and Splaine Park.

Each garden has its own personality - some plots are large, in-ground plots, other plots are smaller raised beds.

Our non-profit organization, a 501(c)(3), is entirely volunteer-run, with Garden Captains at each garden, and a Board of Directors which supports all four gardens.

Food Donations

Each garden has a number of Donation Plots, which are cared for and maintained by our gardeners. The harvests from these plots are donated weekly to The Salem Pantry
